Also included a member sharing best-practice segment and discussions with Pacific Interpreters (PI), the exclusive phone-based interpreter contract vendor.
  • Facilitated local forum to provide input to state's LEP Medicaid reimbursement project.
  • Increased hospital participation on Pacific Interpreters contract three-fold. PI now handles over 2100 patient calls per quarter.
  • Conducted thorough market evaluation of onsite interpreter/document translation companies. Through bid process, awarded the first hospital-collaborative contract in this area. Outcomes included enhanced patient safety through improved 'standards criteria' for contract interpreters, discounted rates and special services including patient appointment reminder calls free of charge and a new flat rate for labor and delivery services.
