Communications Group

The Communications Group was created to develop a work plan for the public release of data of the 19 participating hospitals of HQIP. There will also be the opportunity to make regional comparisons to the hospitals in the other collaborative projects in Dayton and Columbus. The group will strategize on telling success stories based on the data and not just the release another set of numbers. The Communications Group will also strive to highlight the clinical improvements that occur as a result of the HQIP at both the local and regional level.

Beta Blockade Protocol Project

The Medical Directors Committee chose to focus on improving Cincinnati Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) process of care figures. The Committee will investigate the reason there is a disparity in the figures among communities. They will work on developing a community-approved protocol for perioperative Beta Blockade, a procedure that has shown to improve the outcomes of CHF patients in recent studies. The guidelines will provide best practices and will be specifically designed to meet the needs of the hospitals in the Greater Cincinnati community that are participating in this project.
