Six Area Health Care Professionals
Recipients of Health Council’s 2007 Advanced Preceptor Awards

Six of the Tristate’s top health care professionals who support health care students and new health care employees through their organizations’ precepting programs were recently named the first recipients of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council’s 2007 Advanced Preceptor Award. Established this year, the award recognizes individuals for precepting activities performed in 2007.

The 2007 Advanced Preceptor Award was presented at the Health Council’s twelfth annual Solutions Conference and Expo on March 6 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Recipients of the award include:

  • Evelyn Crawford, RN, TriHealth Hospice of Cincinnati (Hamilton Inpatient Unit)
  • Jerry Finerty, RN, The Christ Hospital (Electrophysiology Lab)
  • Shelley Kaiser, RRT, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (Regional Center for Newborn Intensive Care)
  • Patricia McLain, RN, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
  • Merilee Monroe, RN, St. Elizabeth Medical Center
  • Pam Palazollo, RN, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)

The six recipients were chosen from a field of approximately 80 award nominees. To be considered for the award an advanced preceptor nominee must be a nurse or allied health professional; have two years of occupational experience; be professionally competent, committed to students and new employees within the organization and exhibit a respectful and caring attitude; and have precepted during 2007.
