Michael Cheney Joins Health Council as Controller and Director of Finance
Michael A. Cheney, CPA, has joined the Greater Cincinnati Health Council as controller and director of finance. In this newly created position, Cheney will manage the full range of financial and accounting functions for the Health Council and its subsidiaries, the Health Improvement Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati and the Tri-State Trauma Coalition.

Prior to joining the Health Council, Cheney was an independent consultant and provided accounting, finance, investments, operations and technology services to a range of nonprofit entities. He was also previously chief financial officer at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion from 2005-2007; and director of Finance at the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority from 2003-2004. Additionally, Cheney’s experience includes eight years at The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, from 1994-2002, of which he served as chief financial officer from 1999-2002.
Cheney has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ohio State University. He received his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in 1995.
