HEALTH COUNCIL ELECTS 2009 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

At its annual meeting on Thursday, June 12, the Greater Cincinnati Health Council elected its 2009 Board of Directors, which will be led by Dee Ellingwood, Senior Vice President, Planning and Business Development, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Mr. Ellingwood joined Cincinnati Children’s in 1997. His primary role is the management of the strategic planning and business development activities of the medical center. Mr. Ellingwood is responsible for the thirteen off-site specialty care outpatient centers and one primary care center in the Greater Cincinnati region, home care services operations and the drug and poison information center. Additionally, he is responsible for medical staff services and oversees institutional relationships with community physicians. In this capacity, he serves on the board of the Tristate Physician Hospital Organization and serves as president of Child Health Administrative Services (CHAS), a medical services organization for community practices, specializing in practice management support. He is also accountable for the government relations, community relations, and child advocacy activities of Cincinnati Children’s. Most recently, he is in a leadership role for the development and evolution of the institution’s international and domestic affiliations with other hospitals and health systems.
