Public Affairs

Maintaining strong community, health provider partner and government relations is an essential role of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council. Due to the magnitude of changes in health care, this function continues to be vital to the Council’s ability to partner with other organizations in the community and to represent its members effectively at local, state, and national levels.

Community Relations

Over the years, the Greater Cincinnati population has turned to the Council for its leadership, networks and knowledge to find ways to improve the community’s health and to advocate for high quality care in the Tristate. The Council reliably functions as the neutral ground for diverse organizations and individuals to solve health-related problems together.

Health Provider Partner Relations

The Council continuously fosters new opportunities to share information and to collaborate with business, managed care, insurers, nurses and physicians, public health, public safety and emergency management officials, and educators. It leads broad-based task forces on important community health issues such as hospital status and the nursing shortage.

Government Relations

Whether through its testimony at public hearings, its discourse with local, state, and federal agencies, or its relationships with other community organizations, the Council seeks to support its members’ efforts to deliver high quality, cost-effective health and wellness services.
