Identify and address disparities in the quality of care delivered to patients.
As part of a national effort to improve the quality and equality of care provided to all patients, 19 hospitals throughout Greater Cincinnati have joined together in Cincinnati Expecting Success, an initiative that will help them better serve all patients regardless of race, ethnicity or language (REL) preference.

The Cincinnati Expecting Success effort is part of Cincinnati Aligning Forces for Quality and offers area hospitals opportunities to learn from national experts and build on the success of work across the country that is addressing disparities in care and overall quality of care.
These hospitals have re-engineered their information technology systems based on a Council-led standardization process to collect REL data. Data collection began in 2011 and hospitals will soon look at outcomes data to determine potential disparities in care and identify areas for improvement in care delivery. This effort will eventually expand into primary care physician practices.
